I keep getting asked a lot of questions...so here we go..
Yes, I am a print designer but I also dabble in many other things, such as accessory design, graphic, illustrative and I guess now, 3-d installation with my illustrations. For my senior show, that you can see a picture of below, is one of my illustrations that I chose to print out 36" x 50" on a clear acetate film on a large format printer. If you can see closely enough, the illustration is broken down into 3 layers so they can be enjoyed individually or as one image...depending on where you are standing.
Each layer contains different information, for example the back layer has a print design on it that works in conjunction with the first layer, the illustration. Think of it as a new way of displaying prints on garments...and for that matter...a new way of displaying photographs...
I have fallen in love with the whole merchandising/installation aspect of fashion imagery and, coming up with a new way of displaying these...I think people spend to much time setting up fashion shoots for the photographs to just be in a magazine..why not take them further?
In a nutshell you could call these sort of 'broken down fashion photographs' that I have illustrated, or however you want to interpret it all.
